Abide Studios — Studio Rules & Guest Guide

We’re so excited to have you at Abide Studios!

Whether this is your first visit or you’ve booked with us before, please take a few minutes to review the information below before your session. We’ve recently made some changes to the studio, including a new multi-color paper backdrop system and updated instructions for using it.

By booking and using the studio, you agree to follow the studio rules outlined below.

Before Your Booking

Waiver Required

All renters must complete and sign our studio waiver before gaining access to the studio.

We cannot grant access to the studio until the waiver has been completed.

Getting to Abide Studios

Abide Studios is located on the 2nd floor in Suite 255.

We recommend entering through the main entrance near the loading dock. On weekends, you may need to use the call box to gain access to the building.

Once inside:

  • Take a left and continue past the bathrooms.

  • Head up the stairs. An elevator is also available just past the stairs.

  • At the top, turn left and continue down the long hallway.

  • Abide Studios will be on your right.

Getting Into the Studio

Your studio access code is the last four digits of the phone number used to make your reservation.

Enter the four-digit code on the keypad and then press the button at the bottom of the keypad to unlock the door.

Studio Rules

Shoes & Keeping the Studio Clean

Please remove outdoor shoes when entering the studio.

Before stepping onto a paper backdrop, please step on the provided sticky mat several times to remove dirt and debris from your shoes, socks, or feet.

Our paper backdrops are replaced regularly, and helping us keep them clean allows us to provide a fresh backdrop for everyone while reducing unnecessary paper waste.

Paper Backdrop System

Abide Studios now has a multi-roll backdrop system with several paper colors available for use during your session.

Guests are welcome to change backdrop colors and advance the paper themselves.

Using the Backdrops

  • Use the corresponding chain to raise or lower the backdrop.

  • Please completely roll up one backdrop before lowering another color.

  • If the section of paper you are using becomes noticeably dirty, you may advance the roll to expose a clean section.

  • Please only advance as much paper as reasonably necessary.

  • Do not cut or tear the backdrop paper.

  • Please do not remove paper rolls from their brackets or adjust, loosen, reposition, or otherwise modify the backdrop mounting hardware.

  • Before walking onto the paper, remove outdoor shoes and use the provided sticky mat.

Our backdrop paper and mounting equipment are expensive to replace. Excessive paper use, intentional misuse, or damage beyond normal use may result in an additional charge.

Furniture & Studio Items

Please do not move the couch, coffee table, or trees.

The closet is available for use as a changing area. However, items stored in the closet or elsewhere in the studio may not be removed, used, or relocated without prior permission.

If you are unsure whether something in the studio can be moved or used, please contact us first.

Booking Times, Early Arrival & Overtime

Your reservation includes access to the studio only during your scheduled booking time.

Your reserved time includes:

  • Setup

  • Shooting

  • Cleanup

  • Breakdown

Please plan accordingly so everything can be completed within your reservation.

We understand that sessions don't always run exactly to the minute, so we allow a 15-minute grace period when possible.

If you enter the studio more than 15 minutes before your scheduled start time or remain in the studio more than 15 minutes after your scheduled end time, you may be charged for the additional studio time.

Additional time will be billed based on the studio's current rental rate.

Early access is never guaranteed, as another guest may have the studio reserved immediately before your booking. Likewise, your session may not interfere with another guest's reservation immediately following yours.

If you know you need additional time, please contact us as soon as possible. When availability allows, we are happy to extend reservations.

Damage, Cleaning & Guest Responsibility

Please leave the studio in the same general condition in which you found it.

Renters are responsible for damage caused during their booking beyond normal wear and tear. This includes damage to furniture, décor, plants, walls, floors, equipment, paper backdrops, backdrop hardware, or any other studio property.

The person who booked the studio is also responsible for the actions of their clients, guests, vendors, photographers, and anyone else they bring into the space.

Normal use and reasonable cleanup are included with your booking. However, excessive mess, staining, damage, or cleanup requiring additional staff time may result in an additional cleaning, repair, or replacement charge.

Please report any significant spills or damage to us as soon as possible.

Do not attempt to repair studio property or equipment yourself.

Prohibited Items & Activities

To protect our guests, the building, and the studio:

  • No confetti or glitter

  • No alcohol

  • No illegal drugs

  • No smoking or vaping

  • No candles or open flames

  • No fireworks, pyrotechnics, or combustible materials

If you're planning something unusual for your shoot and aren't sure whether it's permitted, please contact us before your reservation.

Security Cameras & Privacy

Security cameras are located within the studio and are used to help us verify the condition and cleanliness of the space between bookings.

We respect the privacy of our guests and do not use the cameras to monitor sessions during scheduled bookings.

Cameras may not be unplugged, removed, repositioned, obstructed, or otherwise tampered with.

If you would prefer the cameras to be physically covered or removed during your session, please contact us before your booking. We are happy to accommodate the request.

Cancellations & Refunds

We understand that plans change. Our standard cancellation policy is:

  • More than 48 hours before your booking: Full refund.

  • Between 24 and 48 hours before your booking: 50% refund.

  • 24 hours or less before your booking: No refund.

Refund eligibility is determined based on the time between your cancellation and the scheduled start of your reservation.

Holiday, Seasonal & Limited-Time Pop-Ups

Please be aware that our standard cancellation policy changes during designated holiday, seasonal, and limited-time pop-up periods.

Because these setups are offered for a limited period and appointment availability is limited, all bookings made for designated holiday, seasonal, or limited-time pop-ups are non-refundable.

This applies regardless of when the cancellation is made.

When availability allows, we may choose to accommodate a request to move your reservation to another available time within the same pop-up period. However, rescheduling is not guaranteed and is at the discretion of Abide Studios.

Before You Leave

Before leaving the studio, please:

  • Return the space to the same general condition in which you found it.

  • Roll up any paper backdrop you were using.

  • Make sure you've collected all personal belongings.

  • Dispose of any trash you created during your session.

  • Make sure you've completed cleanup and breakdown within your reserved booking time.
